Since 2019, Chapman Spingola has partnered with the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program  (DAPP), a national nonprofit committed to expanding the pipeline of women of color lawyers and creating opportunities for women of color law students to secure summer positions at law firms and corporations following their first year of law school

This summer marks the third consecutive year in which Chapman Spingola has participated in the DAPP Direct Job Placement Fair. Joining the firm through DAPP this summer is Rucha Shastri, a rising second-year student at the University of Illinois College of Law.

In addition, former DAPP Scholar and DAPP Direct alumna, Jana Crane, who joined the firm last summer, is returning as a Summer Associate. Jana has also accepted an offer to join the firm as an Associate following her graduation from Chicago-Kent College of Law in the fall of 2022.

“We are grateful to DAPP for connecting us with talented, top-notch law students like Jana and Rucha,” said Partner Sara Siegall. “The DAPP program is a prime example of how a commitment to diversity and inclusion is not just the right thing to do, but also strengthens the firm and its ability to serve clients.”

Added Partner Shannon Knight, “it has been a pleasure working with Jana since she joined the firm last summer, and we are thrilled to welcome Rucha to our team. Our law clerks and summer associates provide invaluable support to our attorneys. In return, we aim to offer mentorship and ample opportunities for meaningful hands-on experiences.”
